London’s West End is unparalleled for shopping, with a world-class mix of 600 shops, 40 glittering theatres, 120 international brands, 30 museums and galleries, 17 Michelin star restaurants and seven tranquil green spaces.
Until Monday 3 May, London's top home retailers are combining forces to promote West End Home Week.
Stores taking part (with special offers and events) include Armani/Casa, Bhs, Debenhams, Gant, Habitat, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Liberty, Marks & Spencer, Nicole Farhi, Selfridges, National Geographic and Zara Home. Also taking part is Anthropologie, with its living wall of 14 different green plants.
Special discounts abound, including 20 per cent off at Habitat and £10 off a spend of £40 or more on homewares at Bhs.
Liberty are showing special displays of Moroccan rugs, and stunning lights. Also, head for the House of Fraser window, and see the display team create four totally different rooms. On Tuesday 27 April, pop into Debenhams for special Le Creuset demonstrations.
Celebrity designer lectures at John Lewis include furniture designer Nick Munro on Thursday 29 April, 5.30pm-7.30pm, and textile designer Clarissa Hulse on Saturday 1 May, from 2-4pm. Or for expert advice on lighting and more, drop by Bhs on Wednesday 28 April.
Also on Wednesday, at Selfridges, Elle Deco editor-in-chief Michelle Ogundehin questions the flamboyant home designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen on this season’s home trends, from 6-7pm.
On Thursday 29 April at Selfridges, decorator Nicky Haslam is signing copies of his book Sheer Opulence, from 5.30-6.30pm. Also on Thursday, Habitat is hosting a trends and advice seminar headed by their creative director, from 5-6pm.
On Saturday 1 May, celebrate Bo Concept’s tenth birthday at Selfridges, with 10 per cent off, plus cupcakes, balloons and mini bottles of champagne.
