Mason Greenwood has been named as Manchester United's Player of the Month for the first time in his career.

Greenwood, 18, has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford, becoming a regular starter on the right of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's attack.

Greenwood formed a potent attacking trio with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial during the run-in, with Greenwood ending on 10 Premier League goals for the 2019/20 campaign.

The academy graduate scored four of those 10 goals during the pivotal month of July to help United secure third place in the table - and Champions League qualification as a result.

Greenwood scored twice in the 5-2 victory over Bournemouth - the first was to equalise after the Cherries' opener, while his second gave United breathing space at 4-2.

The young forward also scored in the 3-0 win at Aston Villa, while his second-half goal against West Ham sealed a vital 1-1 draw in United's penultimate game of the season.

Those performances saw Greenwood win United's Player of the Month award for the first time in his career, securing 46 per cent of the votes from fans.

Anthony Martial came second with 28 per cent of the votes, with Bruno Fernandes third on 26 per cent.

Greenwood has broken Fernandes' dominance of the award, with the Portuguese having previously won in February, March and June.
