Garçons debut
Shoreditch-based foodie trio, Les Trois Garçons, have branched into furniture, with their debut collection produced in collaboration with Portuguese manufacturer De Pau. Think luxury-upholstered chairs, simple cabinets, side tables and shelving in a range of finishes. See them at the recently redesigned lifestyle café in East London. Cabinets start at £1,800; tables start at £900; sideboards start at £1,800; a table with retractable surfaces starts at £1,900.

Winning chair
Calling all design-savvy bookworms: Olympic Torch designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have just won the Bodleian Libraries Chair Competition with an elegant but sturdy three-legged chair that goes into production with manufacturers Isokon Plus ready for the opening of the newly refurbished Weston Library (formerly the New Bodleian Library) next October.

The colours of Liberty
Liberty is launching its first ever own branded paint and wallpaper range, with paints produced by Craig & Rose. They come in 30 lovely colours but are not cheap at £40 for 2.5 litres.

Three wallpaper designs based on existing fabrics start at £49 a roll. They're both part of a bigger launch, incorporating lots of new fabrics inspired by the work of British landscape architect William Nesfield ( and for the paints
