Guinevere: celebrating 50 years, is at Christie's South Kensington, 85 Old Brompton Road, SW7 on March 19 (020 7930 6074; christies.co.uk)
Nina Campbell is among many interior designer devotees of Guinevere Antiques, the Chelsea shop that specialises in high-quality, unusual decorative pieces, from Italian coloured glass to Anglo-Ceylonese ebony boxes.
Founded by French hat designer Genevieve Weaver in 1963, Guinevere is now owned by her two sons, Kevin and Marc, who travel the globe to find furnishings and textiles that will enchant both their decorator and celebrity fans — famous patrons include Valentino, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jade Jagger.
Estimates for the 450 lots of furniture, lighting, tableware and fabrics start at £400, for a blueand-white china meat drainer from Genevieve Weaver's collection.
Standout lots include Seventies American studio furniture by Paul Evans (right). A pair of his Cityscape chromed metal and cork cabinets is expected to fetch between £2,500 and £4,000.
