Gardening Q&A: which gardening courses are best for beginners?

The experts at the RHS answer your gardening questions...
Question: I would like to buy a gardening course or classes for my husband as a birthday gift. I'm looking for a course that will teach the basic aspects of gardening. Do you have any suggestions for a suitable one? Many thanks.

Answer: Online, I would consider choosing courses from My Gardening School which covers a good range of topics and uses top horticultural tutors: my-garden-school.com/courses. Having completed the course, continuing education credits (CEUs) with the Association of Professional Landscape Designers are awarded.

For a practical introduction to gardening, keen gardeners would find RHS Level 1 ideal: rhs.org.uk/education-learning.

In the London area, there are centres in Uxbridge, Enfield and Bexley Heath. The RHS also have a selection of workshops throughout the year at Wisley and the other RHS gardens: rhs.org.uk/education-learning/courses-workshops.
