Kicking off on September 19, National Cupcake Week is back for its eighth year. From boozy Pimms to zesty lemon cheesecake flavours, there are plenty of recipes to ensure you celebrate the tasty week in style...

The cupcake craze shows no sign of slowing so opt for an afternoon in the kitchen, between September 19 and September 23, and rustle up some sweet treats in true National Cupcake Week style.

Take some tips from north London baking experts Lola's Cupcakes with these rich white chocolate cupcakes. A fresh berry topping helps to add some sweetness.

The Hairy Bikers prove that counting calories doesn't have to spell the end of your cake-loving ways. Their almost guilt-free fairy cupcakes are only 128 calories per serving, making them perfect for those afflicted with a particularly sweet tooth.

For something a little different, opt for lemon cheesecake cupcakes. Created by The Great British Bake Off star Martha Collison, the tangy lemon curd makes a great partner for the crumbly biscuit topping.

Lakeland has lots of baking accessories and frosting to help give your cupcakes a boozy finish

With their gin and tonic and processo ready-made frosting, Lakeland have the pick-me-up for traditional cupcakes. Or, add a quirky martini-shaped mini pipette to infuse your cupcake with your favourite tipple.
