A conveyor belt whizzes stuff around and you grab a small plate of whatever you like the look of. There's a Russian roulette element as you may be eating salmon one minute and bearded squirrel fish the next - a bit pricey but the best seafood I've had.

A great Mexican - I recommend the fajitas just for the sizzle value alone. You can have chicken, beef or, for vegetarians, cactus. Jugs of tequila are available to drink while you wait for a seat - if only it were like that at the dentist.

A very romantic, if tiny, tucked away place in Battersea, not at all pretentious, the food is excellent and fresh and it's a BYO for those cheaper champagne moments.

Excellent fast food type establishments - despite smaller portions of everything these days - or it could be that I'm just becoming greedier. The fiorentina pizza with soft egg is hard to beat - no bad pun intended.
