The supermarket is giving festive food a twist this year with its newest launch: a pasty containing a full three-course Christmas dinner.

Taking food on-the-go to another level, Morrisons new Christmas dinner in a pasty costs just £2.50.

To start, there is Ardennes pâté, sweet apple chutney and Melba toast. This is followed by the main course which consists of British turkey with sage and onion stuffing, potato, pigs in blankets, cranberries and a creamy sauce. To finish, there is a traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce.

There is an arrow on the back of the pasty which ensures you start your Christmas experience with pâté rather than pudding.

Morrisons say the Christmas Dinner Pasty was inspired by the original Cornish baked good which used to combine sweet and savoury fillings. They were carried underground by tin miners and contained meat and vegetables in one end, and jam or fruit in the other.

The Christmas hybrid, which took chefs three months to perfect, is crimped and filled by hand in Cornwall. It arrives in store today and is available to buy from Morrisons Pie Shop.
