What: Fragrant Malaysian king prawn and coconut noodles, (£3.50/380g)

Taste assessment: Microwave diet food doesn’t exactly sound tempting but this dish from the supermarket chain’s NU ME range was a relatively pleasant surprise. The best part was the vegetables: a sprinkling of cabbage, crunchy red peppers and edamame beans. The sauce — more soup than super — provided a welcome kick alongside rather flaccid prawns. Not the perfect lunch, but — at just 289 calories — definitely a dieter’s friend.
