Looking for musical inspiration? Belfast's AVA Festival is hosting a free music conference this weekend at Printworks in south east London, offering an opportunity for electronic music lovers to get an insight into the industry through some of its leading names, from artists to agents.

Bicep, who played a sold-out string of shows at the venue last November, will give an exclusive talk on the making of their hugely successful self-titled debut album. Don't miss London's Night Czar, Amy Lamé who was appointed by London Mayor Sadiq Khan to keep London nightlife thriving. She will give a lecture on the city's nighttime economy, coming in the wake of Hackney's controversial new late-night license and amid the backdrop of club closures across the capital.

Elsewhere, there will be panels featuring representatives from Netflix, Adidas and the BBC, who will be looking for commissions from producers and artists for film, television and adverts. They will also give advice on how to make it in the industry.

Once the day of networking is over, there is a ticketed nighttime club show with a mighty line-up. The Press Halls will fill as Bicep headlines with support from Mall Grab, Joy Orbison and Hunee. Mall Grab is the upbeat house favourite who is confirmed for Melt, Field Day and Sonar festivals this summer. Joy Orbison is a powerhouse producer and DJ — check out his six-track EP 81b to get you in the mood for his set. Hunee is a former XOYO resident and Boiler Room regular. His style is fun, eclectic and never predictable. He's also been confirmed for Dimensions and London's Junction 2 festival in 2019.

It looks set to be a great day and night of thought-provoking talks and music. Remember to wrap up warm, though, as the vast space can get very chilly.
