Pizza Express has revealed plans to reopen 150 more of its restaurants around the country in the next two weeks.

The restaurant chain has announced that it will open 71 pizzerias on July 30, followed by a further 88 on August 6.

The news of the reopenings comes amid recent reports that the group is considering a restructure plan that could see “around 75” of its restaurants close permanently.

So far, the restaurant group has reintroduced dine-in service to 46 UK restaurants from July 9, including two in London (Abbey Road and Bankside). Pizza Express currently operates 470 restaurants in the UK.

A number of the restaurants set to reopen are based in London, with July 30 reopenings including Paddington, Croydon and Kew, and August 6 reopenings including Wandsworth, Bromley and Lavender Hill.

The group also revealed that all open locations would participate in the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which sees restaurants encouraged to offer government-sponsored 50 per cent discounts on dine-in food and soft drinks, up to the value of £10 per person.
