Mercury-prize nominated musician Loyle Carner is turning his hand to cooking.

He’s already released a musical ode to Yotam Ottolenghi and now he’s made a pizza for Yard Sale. Christmas Con Carner topped with turkey chilli, mozzarella, and teardrop peppers on a house tomato sauce garnished with sour cream, coriander and lime. £1 from each pizza will go to the free cooking school he runs in with the social enterprise GOMA for kids with ADHD. Here’s his recipe for success.

Favourite pizza topping?

Probably anchovies.

Do you have a London secret?

Nothing good happens after 2am.

Best place for a first date?

My kitchen.

What are you the most proud of?

My little brother, solid as a rock.

What’s your ambition?

Stay happy, open a restaurant, raise wicked kids, eat good food, get a dog.

Best thing a cabbie has said?

All the best ones are too explicit, cabbies get up to some niche stuff.

What do you owe your parents?

Everything.

Favourite book?

No More Plastic, or Simple by Ottolenghi.

What scares you?

Sharks, alligators, all underwater killers.

Desert island luxury?

Ice cubes for sure.

Who do you call when bored?

My Mrs.

A song that makes you dance like no one’s watching?

Keep on Loving Me, by The Whispers.

Most embarrassing moment?

Too many to count.

Christmas Con Carner is available from December 4 at Yard Sales across London, yardsalepizza.com
