His first feature in 25 years, it presents vignettes of millennial anxiety.
Surreal wit doesn't add up to a coherent narrative or indeed anything but a series of one-line captions for the laconic visual gags.
Kafka with Nordic overtones best describes the movie; even then hardly does justice to a perplexingly eccentric art-house experiment.
