Snakes in cinema rattle film fans

From fantasy thriller flick to real-life horror: rattlesnakes were let loose in a US cinema showing the Samuel L Jackson action thriller Snakes On A Plane.

Terrified moviegoers panicked when the reptiles slithered under seats and crawled along the floor.

Authorities said unknown pranksters released the two venomous rattlesnakes in an Arizona cinema.

Police believe they were smuggled into the cinema in rucksacks. No one was bitten in the incident.

Snakes On A Plane went straight to the top of the US box office at the start of the week with receipts of $15.25 million (£8.5 million).
