Nintendo's spotlight on the weird and wonderful indie games is taking place today in the Indie World Showcase.
The event will roughly run for 20 minutes, giving us lots of nice information on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch.
This isn't a Nintendo Direct, so don't expect anything huge from the broadcast, this will strictly be for indie titles made by typically smaller companies.
Anything from Nintendo is always welcome news and at the time of writing this, there are nearly 4,000 people waiting for the event to begin.
The last game showcase we had from Nintendo was a Direct Mini in July, which was the first in a series focused on Nintendo Switch games from the Nintendo development and publishing partners.
Indie World Showcases are much smaller than the Direct Mini's, but there will be a lot of neat games getting a home on the Switch which we can expect to see more of tonight.
How to watch Nintendo's Indie World Showcase and what to expect
The broadcast can be seen on Nintendo's official YouTube channel and on Nintendo's own special website created for the event.
Indie World Showcase will go live at 5pm UK time and will roughly last for 20 minutes.
Don't expect to see anything huge from this showcase - the Indie World twitter account is always sharing updates of the types of games which will be coming to Switch.

Even though Nintendo is very clear to announce that this is not a Direct, people always get their hopes up when it comes to surprise announcements from the company.

Like with the Direct Mini, people know not to expect anything large but because of rampant expectations, people online were left feeling betrayed after not getting any big announcements, and this indie showcase will be completely about indie games coming to the Switch.
That's not to say there won't be big titles, but we won't, for example, hear anything about the new Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild sequel.
There are some indicators that a proper Nintendo Direct might be coming soon, especially considering how Amazon seemingly leaked an early announcement of a Skyward Sword port to the Switch when the game was briefly listed online.
Until then, enjoy the Indie World Showcase and give these smaller studios some love.
