Lloyds said to be planning mini-branches across London

Lloyds Bank is planning to open a string of mini-branches across London, according to reports.

The new locations will have few staff and more machines, according to City A.M, and are aimed at plugging the gap in the bank's coverage across the capital.

Barclays recently announced that it would be opening branches within Asda stores as it scales back traditional branches.

Banks are facing a challenge as fewer customers come to branches, instead opting for other options such as online banks. Lenders are keen to reduce the overhead of costly stores but do not want to disenfranchise customers.
