There are two state primary schools in Covent Garden — St Clement Danes CofE in Drury Lane and St Joseph’s RC in Macklin Street. Both get good Key Stage 2 results at age 11, and are judged “good” by government education watchdog Ofsted. The Royal Ballet School (co-ed, ages 11 to 18) trains classical dancers for the Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet, with students aged 11 to 16 based at White Lodge in Richmond Park, and 16 to 18 year-olds in Floral Street, Covent Garden.
Westminster Abbey Choir School (boys, ages eight to 13) in the cathedral precinct is the choir boarding school. Westminster School (boys, ages 12 to 18 with girls in the sixth form) in Little Dean’s Yard is a top private day and boarding school.
