Blackhorse Road and Walthamstow Central Tube stations are on the Victoria line with fast trains to Oxford Circus. Overground trains run to Liverpool Street from Wood Street, Walthamstow Central (17 minutes) and St James Street, and to Gospel Oak and Barking from Blackhorse Road and Walthamstow Queens Road.
Chains Nando’s, PizzaExpress, Turtle Bay and Grillstock Smokehouse are at The Scene entertainment and residential hub. The many local coffee shops include the Deli Café, 56 St James and Le Délice. Leisure and the arts
As well as its permanent collection, the William Morris Gallery holds regular exhibitions. Vestry House Museum specialises in local history. Walthamstow sits between the Lea Valley including the Walthamstow Marshes, and Epping Forest. Lloyd Park was restored in 2012 with Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery cash. The park has a café, natural play area, outdoor gym, tennis courts and bowling green.
