Much of the UK is reopening this weekend for "Super Saturday", with pubs, restaurants and cinemas all getting back in business.

Live music fans, however, are going to have to wait a little longer to get back into their favourite venues. Live-streamed gigs are the next best thing.

This weekend, it's all about virtual reality, with two immersive online festivals to enjoy. Elsewhere, there are archive sets, at-home performances and more.

Here's where to tune in.

Lost Horizon

The people behind Glastonbury’s ever-surprising Shangri-La area have made up for the festival’s cancellation by launching their own virtual reality festival. Carl Cox and Peggy Gou are among those set to play, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most intriguing online music events so far this year. Head here for the full guide.

Elton John

Elton John is the latest music icon to treat fans to weekly helpings of classic archive footage. His new series kicks off this Friday with a gig at the Playhouse Theatre in Edinburgh from all the way back in 1976. It's to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund.

Wireless Connect

Wireless was, like every other festival, forced to cancel its physical edition but is joining Lost Horizon by stepping into virtual reality. Performances were filmed partly in Alexandra Palace, with the rest in LA, featuring the likes of Stefflon Don, Lady Leshurr, Avelino, IAMDDB, Jaykae and more. Head here for the full guide.

Montreux Jazz Festival

Montreux Jazz Festival is making up for its cancellation by hosting a 16-day online festival, featuring a string of rare and previously unseen footage from over the years. Charles Mingus, Etta James and BB King are just a few of the greats involved.

Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic

Willie Nelson is set to go ahead and host his annual 4th of July Picnic online this year. It’ll feature some newly recorded at-home performances — from Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle and more — as well as interviews and some great old footage from previous editions.
