Curchods, East Horsley
When the Curchods journey first began, we were determined never to be the subject of the horror stories so often told about estate agents. Our aim was to ensure we stood out in a world of service mediocrity, by providing outstanding customer care, quality professional advice and a determination to realise our clients' objectives. We understand the unique pressures of buying and selling property and are committed to making the transaction as smooth, fast and stress free as possible.
The responsibility of handling the sale or purchase of what is likely to be your most expensive asset and probably your best tax free investment opportunity, must be consigned to someone with integrity, who you can trust. As members of the National Association of Estate Agents and the Ombudsman for Estate Agents, we are bound by vigorously enforced Codes of Practice and professional Rules of Conduct. Our greatest asset is our reputation and we will never do anything to compromise our high ethical principles.
East and West Horsley are villages well suited to house purchasers looking for properties within easy commuting distance of London. There are excellent road links with the A3 and M25 as well as a good train service to London, Waterloo (38 minutes). Heathrow and Gatwick airports are approximately ½ hour drive.
East Horsley expanded with the coming of the railway, and in the 1930's many character properties were built by the architect Chown, offering solidly built homes which incorporate features such as oak joinery, inglenook fireplaces, character elevations and set in private roads.
There are many period properties which pre-date the railway and the village atmosphere has thankfully not been lost. There is good local shopping as well as many towns within easy reach for more comprehensive shopping.
The village is surrounded by "Green Belt" land, much of it belonging to The National Trust, Surrey County Council and The Forestry Commission, providing opportunities for many recreational pursuits. Leisure facilities can be found at both Guildford and Leatherhead as well as many private clubs which provide tennis, squash and golf.
Within East Horsley itself there is the private Horsley Sports Club, offering tennis and cricket. Several riding stables are close by and clay pigeon shooting is available locally. There is also an active bowling club.
Local theatres can be visited at Guildford, Leatherhead and Woking. East Horsley has its own amateur dramatic clubs, "The Whips" and "The Nomads". Two village halls provide several other clubs and activities including bridge, flower arranging and aerobics.
Surrey is well known for its range of schools, both private and state. Surrey University is nearby in Guildford, along with further educational centres such as Guildford Law College, Kingston University, Guildford Technical College, Woking College and Epsom College of Art and Design.
For the benefits of being in the country and also within easy reach of London "The Horsleys" are very hard to beat.
