This June Castle Estates celebrate 25 years of professional service to Hinckley and the surrounding community. David Ellingworth FRICS the Principal of Castle Estates and Vic Thurley started the company on the 6th June 1982 with the assistance of Sue Brown FNAEA. Sadly Mr. Thurley passed away in 1999 and David took over the sole responsibility for the company.
It only seems like yesterday that they were planning their corporate identity, office location, organising stationery, advertising, For Sale boards and the like in readiness for their new venture. Exciting times. The computer age had not yet taken off. No affordable mobile phones, black and white advertising only in the Newspapers, coloured stick on photographs of houses was the new thing! What a difference to today’s computer generation, colour advertising, internet, computerised mailing lists and full colour sale particulars printed in-house with floor plans and soon to be ‘virtual tours.
Life is easier in some ways says Mr. Ellingworth but the public expectations from their Estate Agent is much higher. Top quality regular press and internet advertising, seven days a week marketing, feed back on all viewings, updates on sales progress and so on have all come about in recent years. Goodness knows what will come next. Perhaps 24/7 marketing, all accompanied viewings, open days/weekends are the norm in USA so no doubt it may happen here eventually. The advent of the Home Information Packs is another Government new idea. Like many professionals we are not sure whether it will prove a good one. Time will tell but Castle Estates are 100% committed to providing HIP’s for their Clients at very competitive prices.
David Ellingworth would like to thank all of his Clients, past and present together with his loyal staff, Sue Brown, Tracy Burton, Charlotte Barlow, Paula Pegg, Naomi Connelly, Roy West, Adam Purnell, Lynda Potter, Brenda Owen, Mavis White, for their support over the years.
